Holiday Party for Your Maid Service
In
these tough economic times, everyone is looking to
cut expenses any way they can. Hosting an employee
Christmas party can get expensive if you aren’t
careful. Several years ago, a colleague of mine in
the residential cleaning business confided about how
frustrated she was with her employee Christmas
parties. She would spend several thousand dollars
each year securing a lovely banquet hall with a full
sit down dinner, music, and elegant décor, only to
hear employees complain that they didn’t want to
go. If they did commit to coming, many just never
showed up. She was tired of wasting so much money
that she was considering making the event
“mandatory”! I helped her see....Continue

Pricing House Cleaning Services
Debby Sardone...notes that the house
cleaning business has been booming for years and
shows no signs of slowing down. She agrees that
pricing jobs is difficult: “There are many
complexities.” She does have a few rules of thumb,
though.
Most house cleaners need about an hour to an hour
and 15 minutes for every 1,000 square...“so don’t be
afraid to charge...Continue

How To Grow Your Cleaning
Business In A Down Economy-
Just tonight, a friend of mine told
me that he wakes up every morning and listens to the
doom and gloom of Wall Street on the MSN network. He
then becomes utterly depressed and then starts his
work day. Whoa! That's no way to start the day if
you're an entrepreneur and responsible for creating

The retail gift card industry
has ballooned to a 35 billion dollar a year industry and seems to be
gaining momentum each year increasing by 35% during the holidays. That's
a lot of gift-buying and second-party sales that maid services are
missing out on for the most part. Let's face it, few maid servi
ces increase their gift card
sales during any holiday by a
noticeable degree. We have not
enjoyed the same level of growth
in our "gift certificate" sales
that retailers experience with
their gift card sales, year
round, or seasonally. One reason
of course, is we don't have
retail stores that the public
frequents, and therefore no
display racks or kiosks to
promote this option. But,
another reason, the main reason,
that maid services aren't
selling more gift certificates
is we don't know how to promote
them and then we struggle to
redeem them successfully, when
we do sell a few!
Since our business is built on
the "repeat clean" business....Continue
